В конце концов, снимая «Пекло», Дэнни выкроил немножко времени, чтобы срежиссировать открывающую сцену сиквела, и понял как скучает по кровище и кусачим психам. Интересная новость — действие триквела развернется не во Франции. Бегуны сделали свое дело, и в Париже теперь нет проблемы эмигрантов, опасных кварталов и похитителей женский сумочек на мотороллерах. Там вообще больше ничего нет. Все самое интересное будет происходить на вашем заднем дворе, дорогой читатель. То есть тот читатель, который прописан в России. Ага, теперь русским придется пережить и нашествие зомби (интересно, старый испытанный метод поджога Москвы сработает?). Идеи насчет России у Бойла появились, когда он инспектировал Звездный Городок на предмет съемок «Пекла». Тогда отечественное оборудование показалось режиссеру чересчур устаревшим для научно-фантастической ленты. Слава богу, что годимся хоть на зомби-ужастик." Интересно, какой актёрский состав...

Пух: Cult Brit director finds another winning formula Many are hailing Danny Boyle as the new renaissance man of British cinema. And they may be right. Film critic Tony Earnshaw met him. I remind Danny Boyle as casually I can that it's now 13 years since Trainspotting, with its drug addicts and Edinburgh backdrop, burst onto screens and became an instant cult hit. He gives a boyish grin that turns into a warm belly laugh. In the years since he's enjoyed the kind of eclectic career that most filmmakers aspire to but rarely manage to achieve, being subsumed into a rut that forces them to make the same type of movie over and over again. Not Mr Boyle. There have been yuppies, junkies and zombies, sci-fi extravaganzas, kids' fables and dark passion plays. He's done what he's wanted and, for a lad from a suburb of Bury, counts himself as being very fortunate indeed. "I'm very grateful to be able to have made a few films that people like," he says, running a hand through his thinning but still punky haircut. "I'm going to Austin, in Texas. There's a film festival there and they're giving me this achievement award. It's a mixed blessing really because you think it's all over when you get one of those things! But then it's also very flattering as well. You don't really think 'How did that happen?' You just try and make each one just on its own terms. You can't really say much more than that." Back in the mid '90s Boyle became both the Great White Hope and the new enfant terrible of late 20th-century British movies in the way that Oasis and Blur came to represent "Cool Britannia". Yet here is Boyle, now 52, considering Slumdog Millionaire, a new film that may yet take him all the way to Oscar glory and which he was initially reluctant to take on. He accepts that this particular project came to him as a director for hire but that it might never have materialised had he accepted his agents' throwaway opinion of the script. "They said it was about Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Then I saw who'd written it: Simon Beaufoy. He'd written, of course, The Full Monty. I'd never met him but I thought I'd better read it out of respect. I was gone after 10 or 15 pages. That's the best way to make decisions: you just know you're gonna do it. "You get this amnesia about the realities of making films. It's a bit like what they say about women and childbirth: chemicals are released to make women forget how painful it is so they decide to have another kid. I don't know whether that's true or not but it happens with films." After his instant response to Keighley-born Beaufoy's script, Boyle joined the writer and the film's producer on a recce to potential locations in Mumbai, scene of an extraordinary adventure that culminates in a boy from the slums winning India's biggest quiz show. From the outset, Boyle fell in love with India and all it represented. Looking back he recalls with some amusement the little dance he had to perform in order to get the film made. "Everything has to be vetted by the Indian authorities so you have to be quite creative in the way you present the material to them. Some things you can be surprisingly honest about. "We told them that there was a torture scene involved in the film. They said that was no problem, providing there was nobody above the rank of inspector involved. So that tells you it goes on quite a lot. Everybody was fairly sanguine. For anything worse than a motoring offence, you've got a 50-50 chance of having a bit of electricity to help your confession along. "Anything like kids nicking things... they don't like that at all. There are no thieves. There is a lot of back-handing which you're not meant to own up to. But it does go on." Boyle has made eight feature films over 15 years starting with Shallow Grave in 1994. His rep company has included Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Christopher Ecclestone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton, Cillian Murphy and Cameron Diaz. By anyone's standards it's an impressive line-up, but it paled into insignificance when placed alongside his experience with Indian actors. "When you work in the west with an actor, most of them are out of work most of the time. So when you get them for a film, you've got them. In India every actor is working on at least half-a-dozen films at the same time. So they tell you when they're available. "You say 'Hey, Irfan, we're doing a scene on Tuesday' and he says 'I'm not available on Tuesday. I could come a week on Thursday.' The first assistant director is juggling a number of mobile phones with different people on different lines. He's negotiating with other first assistant directors on other movies about releasing Irfan on a Tuesday instead of a Thursday. You can't start banging tables about it. You get there eventually." Boyle's abiding memory of India is of the energy that keeps Mumbai buzzing. In that respect, he says, Slumdog Millionaire can be compared with Trainspotting – along with an iconic toilet scene that is as hilarious as it is stomach-churning. "It is weird trying to explain to Americans why it's essential for British films to have scenes in toilets! We are the only nation that seems obsessed with that. I wanted to portray it like I saw and found it. It had that incredible energy. I found that same energy in the book of Trainspotting as well and the people that we met when we made the film. We weren't trying to find beauty in the ugliness – we were just trying to show it as it is. "There's horror as well as resourcefulness and beauty, in a way. It's all there. mitzi: Только что посмотрела Миллионер из трущоб. Деваньки!!! Сказать, что это потрясный фильм- это ничего не сказать!!!! Просто бальзам на мою израненную мистером- гулякой -Мерфи душу! Я в полном восторге!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Обожаю Дэнни Бойла!!!!!!!!! Где он раскопал этих актеров??? И дети и взрослые отыграли великолепно! Изумительный видеоряд ( в отличие от сине-серого Пекла тут фаворитом был выбран сочный желтый цвет) .... выверенный сюжет, который держит в напряжении все время.... ну и конечно- как всегда суперский саунд. В общем- пицот килограмм удовольствия , а не фильм !!!!!
London: Дэнни Бойл удостоился от коллег звания «Лучший режиссёр» Дэнни Бойл стал очень близок к тому, чтоб получить «Оскар» за режиссуру: в прошедшую субботу за работу над «Миллионером из трущоб» он получил награду от режиссёрской Гильдии Америки (DGA).
