The British actor-and-director will star in the adaptation of the Daniel Clay novel, which is to be directed by Rufus Norris. Cillian Murphy, Rory Kinnear, Robert Emms, Zana Marjanovic, Bill Milner and Eloise Laurence have also signed up. The novel follows the story of a young girl living in London who witnesses a violent attack which brings chaos to her life. The upcoming film is being produced by Dixie Linder, Nick Marston, Tally Garner and Kenwright and is being produced under the Cuba Pictures Production banner. It was originally being developed by BBC Films. Broken begins shooting later this month in London, based on a script by Mark O’ Rowe. Roth – who will next be seen in financial drama Arbitrage – has also recently been cast in The Liability. Deadline reports the story centres on an “aspiring hitman and a veteran assassin who hates protégés and dreams of retiring.
